Seven’s Winter sheds 100,000 viewers while Gogglebox falls on second outing

winter_large_1aatvds-1aatvhpSeven’s drama series Winter has continued to shed viewers since its debut two weeks ago, grabbing a metro audience of 817,000 down from last week’s audience of 918,000.

However the Rebecca Gibney-fronted detective drama did manage to win its 9pm timeslot, while last week’s episode was the most timeshifted show of the evening, pulling an extra 179,000 viewers to take its total audience to 1.079m.

Winter out-rated Nine’s US drama series Forever which was watched by 582,000 viewers, down from last week’s audience of 619,000, according to OzTam preliminary overnight metro ratings.

Meanwhile on pay-TV new show Gogglebox, which is also shown on Ten, dropped to 107,000 viewers on its second outing on the Lifestyle Channel last night, down from 146,000 metro viewers last week in the 9.30pm timeslot, and well behind Selling Houses Australia which had 167,000 viewers before it ar 8.30pm and was the most watched Foxtel show of the day.

Seven’s My Kitchen Rules easily won the night with a metro audience of 1.708m and was the most-watched shows across all the demographics.

It helped Seven secure a winning audience share of 27.5 per cent, well ahead of closest rival Nine which grabbed a share of 17.8 per cent. The ABC claimed third place with a share of 12.2 per cent while Ten settled for a share of 11.5 per cent.

MKR beat Nine’s The Block: Triple Threat which was watched by 738,000, a modest increase on last week’s audience of 720,000. It was the second-most watched show across all demographics.

Both shows out-rated Ten’s I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, which pulled an audience of 608,000, according to preliminary overnight figures from OzTam. It was also simulcast on One. While it was slightly up on last week’s preliminary audience of 600,000 viewers, it was out-rated by the ABC’s 7.30 which was watched by 638,000 viewers.

Also on the ABC, the second episode of Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell at 8.30pm attracted 737,000 viewers, slightly down from last week’s audience of 768,000. Judith Lucy is all Woman at 9pm was watched by 563,000.

Meanwhile on Ten, local drama Wonderland at 8.30pm fell to a new low – watched by 397,000, down from last week’s audience of 438,000. The Good Wife at 9.30pm grabbed an audience of 281,000.

In the news battleground, Nine News at 6pm was watched by 1.043m before growing to 1.051m at 6.30pm. Seven News at 6pm pulled an audience of 1.007m before dropping to 960,000 at 6.30pm.
