Shannon Noll, horses, sexy blonde and whips in ad for Harness Racing NSW
Harness Racing NSW has launched its first campaign since the outbreak of equine influenza in 2007.
The campaign features former Australian Idol runner-up Shannon Noll, and the line ‘Everything’s better in harness’.
The campaign targets families as well as ‘young party goers’.
The 30 second ad:

Targeting the party goer:
“The challenge was to develop a creative that had cut through, that was different to any other horse racing ad in market and could appeal to both target markets, especially in regional New South Wales, and I think with Shannon’s huge appeal, we will definitely achieve this” said Harness Racing NSW marketing director, Dale Walker.
The agency behind the campaign was Hyperbole.
So bad it’s good.

“The challenge was to develop creative….” and this failed to be creative.
There are no young party goers in these ads – unless 40 is the new 20.
They’ll probably work in the regional markets though. So job done I guess.
Not a great ad for Hyperbole though.

“Families” and “young party goers” are markets with strong overlaps.

Oh I think you spoil sports should give it a break.
I mean, it’s absolutely unrealistic, nothing to do with the actual subject and pretty banal all round, in fact, looks like it was cobbled together out of the scraps from the old canvas bag in the cutting room, but I like that bit where the young girlie smacks that chap’s Botty with her leather whip thingy. Now that gets the old blood coursing eh?
