Smollan Australia makes several new hires
STW Group’s field marketing specialist Smollan Australia has made several new senior appointments.
Sydney, December 7, 2012: Smollan Australia, part of STW, has announced a raft of senior appointments as
the global field marketing specialist seeks to further establish its Australian footprint with local expertise.
Leading the charge to expand the company’s Australian presence will be David Pollock, who has been
appointed as CEO, based in Sydney. With more than 16 years experience in the FMCG/CPG industries, Pollock
has broad and proven skills in Shopper Marketing, Trade Marketing, Field Marketing, Account Management
Most recently Director, Client Service, with Crossmark Asia Pacific, Pollock has worked with
multinational organisations through to smaller start-ups, including a three-year stint living in Malaysia running
16 Asian markets. He joins existing Smollan Australia Managing Director Dean Saul in the leadership team.
“I am incredibly passionate about delivering against client’s expectations and developing tailored solutions
that improve sales, market share, and speed to market,” he said. “It’s a fantastic time to be joining Smollan,
and I’m looking forward to the prospect of leading a team to develop bespoke solutions to Australian business
needs, while harnessing the best practice expertise and insights of a global field marketing powerhouse.”
Joining Pollock at Smollan in Sydney are Merrill Chambers, who has been appointed as Senior Client Service
Manager, and Deborah Shea, who joins the office as National Field Manager.
Also most recently with Crossmark where she worked as Senior National Client Development Manager, Merrill
brings broad experience across the Mass Merchants, Grocery, Department Stores, Pharmacy, Specialty and
Independent channels. Deborah has more than 25 years experience of team management, having undertaken
projects in training, coaching and assessment for companies such as ACP Magazines, Samsung, Telstra and

Smollan Australia began local operations in 2010, and is part of a global network, with local expertise in the
grocery, specialty, mass and pharmacy retail channels. Smollan provides services across the field marketing
spectrum, including sales person training, retailer training programs, merchandising, stock placement and
brand ambassadors, plus Auditing (visual compliance / POS measurement, shelf space measurement),
planogram implementation, account management and warehousing and distribution.
