Southern Cross and Austereo sales teams come together
Southern Cross Austereo today said that it had completed the creation of a single sales team covering metro and regional radio and regional TV sales.
As the company created by the purchase of Austereo by Southern Cross has previously announced, the new unit, to be known as Southern Cross Austereo – Sales, will be led by group national sales director Jeremy Simpson.
The 250 staff are made up of the former Austereo National Sales and Regional Mediaworks units.
Simpson claimed: “We are dedicated to delivering the high quality service that our clients have come to expect from us and with the vast array of media assets now at our fingertips we’ll certainly deliver on being first in entertainment media solutions which is a core focus for our business.”
The radio division represents a total of 140 stations across 68 markets nationally. Just over half are owned by the company while the rest are represented by the sales team.
The TV division looks after 19 regional free to air television licenses.
And here comes the axe. First there was 250 and then there were….
