Sportsbet encourages Aussies to ‘sledge the Poms’ and win $20,000 in run up to Ashes
Online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au is offering Australians a chance to win $20,000 by posting their best sledges of the English cricket team in the lead up to the Ashes.
Punters are invited to post their best insult to the Barmy Army through the Sportsbet Pommel website, Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #Pommel.
Sledgers will then be provided with a ball that will be fired at a giant cricket box shaped piñata that’s draped with the English flag. If their ball destroys the piñata, they will win the top prize of $10,000.

“Beating famous sledges such as the great Denis Lillee asking the portly Mike Gatting to move out of the way of the stumps because he couldn’t see them will be hard to beat, but if you want to have a crack at Joe Root’s surname or Alistair Cook’s dodgy batting, here’s your chance,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
Sportsbet.com.au partnered with digital agency Loud&Clear to create the #Pommel campaign.
The online bookmaker is also pushing its new ‘Cash Out’ feature in a new campaign created by BMF.
The new campaign aims to capture the excitement and control punters can feel with the new feature which allows punters to cash out before a game has ended.

It is running across TV, radio, digital, social and press.

“It’s a great and genuinely fun brand to work on. I reckon the punters will get a chuckle out of the latest work,” said Cam Blackley, BMF executive creative director. “

Very similar to a campaign for a UK bookmaker which involved getting people to sledge each other via Twitter (twedge) http://www.figarodigital.co.uk.....fair1.aspx

@Great ideas – ‘similar’, as it involved cricket?

A fun idea, but that intro video was amateurish.
Why don’t they hire professional talent for these things? How to make a good idea sound lame.

If you can game it right, Cash Out is awesome. I reckon these spots really nail how it feels having cash on the line and the ability to get out
