STW brings together Moon, Shift and Human under new boss Gavin Levinsohn as Anouk Darling departs after decade at helm
Three years after The Brand Shop relaunched as Shift, the agency is to folded into fellow STW company Moon Communications Group.
Also becoming part of Moon is fellow STW agency Human.
While the Human and Shift brands will be retained, they will all come under new Moon Communications Group CEO Gavin Levinsohn.
STW has also announced the departure of Levinsohn’s predecessor Anouk Darling “to focus on a range of other business interests”.
Shift boss Iain Good is to stay with the group, moving into the role of business director with a brief to develop the group’s data and DM strategy.
Levinsohn quietly joined Moon late last year. Prior to joining Moon, Levinsohn spent five years as MD of Ogilvy & Mather Cape Town.
He said in the announcement: “Changing the context of one’s life, whether through where you choose to live, where you work or both can catalyse energy and creativity, and that’s exciting,” he said. “I’ve spent the past six months at Moon learning about the local market, learning the local rules, and concentrating on the business. I believe there is significant potential in the business.”
He said: “Moon’s proposition has always been to help businesses build their brands from the inside out, adding Shift and Human to the Moon Group further bolsters Moon’s comms and strategic credentials providing an enviable client offering.”
Darling said in a statement: “Moon has been part of my life for 10 years, the past six as CEO, and it is the right thing for business renewal that fresh thinking and energy takes the business forward to its next phase of growth.”
“Every person, company and brand has a life cycle and requires constant evolution and it’s time for me to challenge my own potential and take a different focus.”
Shift’s main clients include Kimberly-Clark, Moet Hennessy and Mortgage Choice. Moon’s include Treasury Wine Estates, AGL, Westfield, CommSec and Sunglass Hut. Human’s client case studies include MLA, Westpac and NRMA Insurance.
Human MD Kate Walker will report in to Levinsohn in the new setup.
STW is one of Australia’s biggest communications companies, with interests in agencies including Ikon, Ogilvy, Bohemia, Howorth, Mindshare, JWT, Maxus, The White Agency and Tongue.
