Top marketer Tara Lordsmith departs Simplot
One of Australia’s most respected and long-serving marketers Tara Lordsmith has left Simplot, Mumbrella understands.
Lordsmith has been in senior roles with food company Simplot, which owns major food brands such as Edgell, Birds Eyes and Lean Cuisine, for nine years most recently serving as general manager marketing.
As a member of Simplot’s retail leadership team, Lordsmith had full responsibility for the marketing function across Australia and New Zealand for the company, which according to Nielsen spent $12.2m on advertising.
A spokeswoman for Simplot confirmed the departure, which occurred late last year, and said no replacement had yet been named.
Lordsmith won marketing program of the year at the Australian Marketing Institute awards for the launch of Quorn, a protein-based food for vegetarians. She is also a board member of the Australian Marketing Institute having served on the marketer industry body since 2012.
Prior to Simplot she was in marketing roles for Cadbury-Schweppes for eight years.
Since departing in November Lordsmith has launched her own consultancy offering strategic marketing advice to business.
Simplot’s agencies are Huckleberry on media, BWM on creative, Hardhat Digital on digital and Thrive Pr on public relations.
