Telstra launches big ad push to promote its new ‘Air’ wifi hotspots via The Monkeys
Telstra is supporting the rollout of its new ‘Air’ Wifi hotspot offerings across the country with a campaign based around the idea of ‘lighting up’ people’s lives.
Created by The Monkeys the pillar of the campaign is a 60-second TVC which illustrates how people could use their home broadband data allowance at these hotspots, which are lit up with purple light.
Last week the telco also held an activation in Melbourne to launch the new hotspots, many of which are attached to payphones, by putting lightboxes on top of them and blasting beams of light into the air.

The campaign, which uses the Birds of Tokyo song ‘Fire’ as its soundtrack, will also be supported by a 30 second TVC.

Telstra announced the Air initiative, which is similar to schemes that already run in Europe, last year as a way to allow its customers to tap into other Telstra customers’ hotspots but use their own data.
Great spot – does the job. Well done

How many more telco ads do I have to sit through that shows me all the stuff people use the internet for!!?? I get it. Internet’s great. I’ve known for a while, and I don’t give telcos any of the credit.
