Leaving Telstra: Michaela Chan

Telstra’s general manager of marketing Michaela Chan has been named in the new role of chief marketing officer of Ooh Media.

Former Starcom Digital general manager Brendon Cropper has also joined the outdoor company in the role of digital strategy director, having spent the last eight years running his own digital training company.

Ooh CEO Brendan Cook said in a statement: “As experts in their fields, they will help oOh! take a significant step towards enabling its longer term business strategies and truly delivering a world leading approach to audience based connection.”

Chan has been with Telstra for just over a year and is responsible for advocacy programs for the telco. Prior to Telstra she was FujiXerox Australia, Blirt, Autodesk and spent two years as global brand manager for Chevron.

Cropper has also been working with an unnamed media agency helping to set up its trading desk, with his move coming as the outdoor industry gears up to offer programmatic buying to advertisers.

Cropper has already started at the company and Chan takes her position on September 28.
