Harvey Norman, Woolworths, Sportsbet and Foxtel have come on board as sponsors of Ten’s Big Bash cricket, with KFC and Holden returning as key partners.

The British Sausage Company in Perth and the Queensland Government have also signed on to be part of the network’s coverage of the T20 tournament.

Network Ten chief sales officer, Louise Barrett, welcomed the sponsors and described the T20 Big Bash league as a “ratings smash”.

The company claimed last year’s games pulled an average capital city and regional audience of 910,000 viewers and an average capital city and regional peak audience of 1.29 million.

More than 1.4 million Australians nationally tuned in to watch the Perth Scorchers triumph over the Hobart Hurricanes in the final.

“The 2014-15 season will be more action-packed, featuring more games in prime time and the best hosting and commentary team in Australia,” Barrett said.

The commentary team will include Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Damien Fleming, Mark Waugh, Sir Viv Richards, Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Mel McLaughlin, Mark Howard and Roz Kelly.

The T20 tournament kicks off this Thursday, December 18.
