Ten and Seven tie in audience share as cricket again hands Nine the win

A_Touch_of_Frost_title_cardTen and Seven tied for second place in audience share with both stations grabbing 14.8 per cent overnight, while Nine won the night with a share of 19 per cent and the ABC settled for a share of 11.3 per cent.

However when secondary channels are accounted for Seven pushed ahead of Ten with an overall audience share of 26.9 per cent thanks to 7Two which grabbed a share of 7.5 per cent after 352,000 viewers tuned in for the final episode of A Touch of Frost at 8.30pm.

Meanwhile all three sessions of the cricket test between Australia and India made the top 20 shows of the day, with the evening session the most watched non-news show with 768,000 viewers tuning in on Nine. Session one was watched by 458,000 with 551,000 watching the afternoon session.

Getaway was the channel’s second most watched non-news show, grabbing an audience of 670,000 in the 8pm timeslot, out-rating the ABC’s Catalyst  which was watched by 604,000, OzTam overnight metro ratings show.

Seven’s best non-news performer of the evening was Highway Patrol which pulled an audience of 636,000 in the 7pm timeslot while Ten’s most watched show was Madam Secretary at 8.30pm which was watched by 592,000, up from last week’s audience of 543,000.

Also on Ten, Family Feud grabbed an audience of 546,000 at 6pm, with The Project at 6.30pm watched by 459,000 before climbing to 580,000 from 7pm. Jamie’s Festive Feast airing from 7.30pm was watched by 551,000, up on last week’s audience for Jamie Cooks Summer which had an audience of 495,000.

Meanwhile on Nine, Kings Cross ER pulled an audience of 607,000 in the 9pm timeslot.

On the ABC, 7.30 was watched by 668,000.

In news Seven News at 6pm won the night with an audience of 1.022m while Nine News at 6pm was watched by 982,000. In the 6.30pm timeslot Nine won with 958,000 viewers while Seven News at 6.30pm or Today Tonight was watched by 956,000.

The secondary channels continue to perform well in the non-ratings period, with 7Two grabbing a share of 7.5 per cent and Nine’s GO! a share of 5.5 per cent. 7Mate had a share of 4.6 per cent while Ten’s Eleven was on a share of 4.5 per cent. Nine’s Gem settled for 3.5 per cent while Ten’s One managed a share of 3.1 per cent.
