The Biggest Loser takes 1m in Monday ratings

The Biggest Loser was the most watched non-news show in the Monday night’s ratings, with over 1m viewers.

Ten’s hour-long weight loss show placed fifth overall in the 7pm time slot, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.

While the networks are still in a non-ratings Easter period, The Biggest Loser beat out non-ratings rivals Nine’s The Big Bang Theory which was Wednesday’s top non-news show and last night took 989,000, and Seven’s Home and Away which was Tuesday’s top non-news show and last night took 937,000 for sixth place.

Seven however won the night overall with Seven News taking 1.639m and Today Tonight coming second with 1.341m.

Nine News was third with 1.22m and ABC News fourth with 1.032m.

Seven held off airing it’s Monday night hit show Revenge last night. The show won last Monday taking 1.415m. Instead, Seven last night aired New Zealand reality shows Dog Patrol, which took 704,000 in 17th spot, and Coastwatch which took 603,000 in 19th spot.

A relatively strong Monday for the ABC had the public broadcaster in spots ten through to 13. Australian Story taking 890,000, Four Corners with 888,000, Q&A with 863,000 and Media Watch taking 834,000.

Elsewhere Seven’s Sunrise took 305,000 viewers beating Nine’s Today in 39th with 261,000.
