The History Of New

Here’s a really nice piece of advertising work for Vodafone out of New Zealand.

The agency is Colenso BBDO, while the director is Wade Shotter from production house Flying Fish.

  2. Meh – I don’t feel compelled to buy anything. :P

  4. Feels a little bit Honda but without the edge….like “Hate” but without making something better, or “OK Factory” without the Whatif twist.

  6. Clever artwork but the voiceover guys sounds like Gandalf and it doesn’t make me feel like I want to buy anything from Vodafone. Is there something ‘new’ they want to tell us about?

  8. Good piece of advertising, but I feel something compelling is lacking; just that X ingredient that takes it over the edge.

  10. I think this is a really artistic execution that is surprising to watch – not exactly selling me a Vodafone product but at least it’s fun.

  12. Looks great….but could be for a wide range of product or services. If it is selling something, i don’t know what i am buying. Congrats to the creative who convinced Vodafone to pay for him to bring it to life….

  14. Brilliant creative concept but the messaging could be for a bank, a telco, a builder, etc..

Why do agencies go so far to and then drop the ball when it comes to making something that will actually provide a return to the client, rather than their egos?

  16. I think it is a lovely brand awreness campaign, it has a inspirational message that even if you aren’t, or do not become a customer you still take something away from it. I do agree though that the voiceover doesnt really fit with me for some reason. I like the pop art concept, clean and simple. I never really thought that in-depth about the word ‘NEW’, but now I will.
