The Inquisitr up for sale

The Inquisitr, a three-year old tech, sport and entertainment website founded and run by former TechCrunch writer Duncan Riley, has been put up for sale on Flippa.com by Nichenet.

Bidding for site, which claims monthly revenue of $15,449 and net profit of $14,649, starts at US$300,000.

The site claims to draw more than 7m page views a month, peaking at 8m in March 2011, and almost 1.5m uniques per month.

The sale includes the brand’s Facebook page and Twitter account, which have around 3,000 and 5,500 followers, respectively.

“It’s with the highest sadness that I offer the site for sale, but you come to a point in your life that you need a serious break, and I’m at that point,” said Riley, who is publisher, editor and owner of The Inquisitr.

“Besides my recent divorce, I have also been involved in legal issues (unrelated to The Inquisitr) that have ground me down and I now know that I need some serious time off,” added Riley, who was also formerly co-founder of b5media.

According to Riley, The Inquisitr has seen over 19 million visits in the last 12 months, and over 84 million page views. Income estimates over the twelve months (includes new advertisers) are $177,349 annually.

The Inquisitr sale follows bidding for MacTalk, which sought more than $125,000 when it went on sale on Flippa.com in February.
