The announcement:

July 11, 2011 –

The Knot has launched Australia’s first Online Wedding Expo allowing Australian brides to sit back in comfort, as they browse through the vast array of content on offer.

This innovative concept brings together all the offerings of a traditional wedding expo including the latest trends, tips and deals from suppliers across key categories such as bridal fashion, photography, videography, ceremony & reception venues, beauty, invitations, planning, registry & gifts, and honeymoon.

The expo is brought to life by videos featuring The Knot team of experts. Every category features videos and expert advice including; top tips on choosing your dream dress, advice on finding the best attire for the entire bridal party and the latest bridal beauty trends.

James Hannan, General Manager of Independent Digital Media, says ‘The Knot’s Online Expo allows us to offer our suppliers a unique and additional platform to showcase their businesses’ offering to our large audience of to-be-weds. Each business gets the opportunity to not only showcase their offering, but also offer brides special deals and incentives’.

‘To obtain these deals, visitors simply ‘like’ a businesses deal, and then as they exit the expo they’ll receive a printable page with all the suppliers deals they have “liked”,’ says Hannan.

This online event is the first of its kind, allowing regional and interstate brides, who usually have to travel or miss out, access to a high quality wedding expo.

Time poor brides have the flexibility of visiting the expo whenever they have a spare moment, whether it’s on the train home, in their lunch hour or on their couch at home.

As an added bonus, brides can enter the weekly competitions to go in the draw to win jewellery and cosmetic prizes.
