The million dollar flop redefines the word ‘enjoy’ with the help of Twitter
While the ironically named Million Dollar Drop may not have rated as well as Nine would have wished, failing to make the magic million viewers for its first outing, the network did at least generate some online hilarity with its attempts to stoke the excitement on Twitter.
The Nine Twitter account asked its 734 followers “A nail biting #milliondollardrop! Did you enjoy?”
Which provoked answers such as:
“@channel9 Enjoy is such a relative word. Was I enjoying something during #milliondollardrop, yes.Was it the show, no.It was farm town on FB.”
“No!!! I rather be pulling my fingernails out!!! Never again “@channel9: A nail biting #milliondollardrop! Did you enjoy?”
“RT @channel9: A nail biting #milliondollardrop! Did you enjoy? No.”
“@TelevisionAU @channel9 Enjoy!? is a new word meaning sampled.#milliondollardrop”
“@channel9 “Enjoy” is rather an ambitious word and not one I’d have applied to #milliondollardrop Sorry…”
Meanwhile, Nine’s choice of its first couple for the show also failed to delight the Twitterati, with more than one wishing them death and divorce.
But the clincher? Even the normally mild-mannered @BandT magazine hating her, tweeting: “Please, for all that is holy, let these two walk away with nothing.”
