The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation asks designers to donate a logo and a story

The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, in conjunction with agency Archibald / Williams, has put out a call to designers around the country to donate a logo in celebration of the hospital’s 150th year dedicated to women and babies.

The_Royal_Website_BannerThe Royal Hospital for Women Foundation, in conjunction with agency Archibald / Williams, has put out a call to designers around the country to donate a logo in celebration of the hospital’s 150th year dedicated to women and babies.

The hospital wants to collect 150 unique “150th anniversary” logos to be used throughout its milestone year celebrations, with each logo (whether it is an illustration, photograph or design) being inspired by a story or life that has been touched by The Royal Hospital for Women. Throughout the year, the logos and the stories behind them will be incorporated into the Foundation’s branding, advertising and social media, and will be used in a fundraising gala in August 2016.

“Seeing what The Royal Hospital for Women does first hand was one of the most humbling experiences of my life,” said Matt Gilmour, Executive Creative Director at Archibald / Williams. “So to us, it was hugely important to help them continue to do the work they do. We hope this is the first of many projects together.”

Originally situated in Paddington, the hospital was “born” in 1820 when it began caring for underprivileged women during pregnancy and childbirth, but became a dedicated women’s hospital in 1866. “Today, The Royal delivers more than 4,200 babies and cares for over 10,000 women each year,” said Catherine Oates-Smith, Chief Executive Officer at The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation. “Which means that the hospital has touched the lives of an incredible number of people over the past century and a half.”
