The Voice helps Nine win Monday ratings, ABC beats Ten

the voice logoThe Voice continued its dominance in the first half of the week’s TV ratings.

Following Sunday’s 2.69m viewers, Monday night’s show, the second last in the program’s blind auditions, took 2.518m across the five city metro markets, according to preliminary reports from OzTam.

The shiny floor show picked up 1.1m on Nine’s preceeding show The Block, which was second for the night and took 1.43m.

The Voice helped Nine to claim 30.6% channel share, ahead of Seven’s 21.6%. Ten, which took 11.9%, was beaten by ABC1:, which rated with 12.9%.

Seven’s rival to The Voice, Australia’s Got Talent, took 1.274m in sixth place, with Revenge, which ran in the following time slot, just 4,000 behind taking 1.223m in seventh place.

In the news and current affairs battle, Seven News was first, and third overall with 1.318m followed by Nine News in fourth overall and taking 1.3m. ABC News was the top program for the public broadcaster in tenth place taking 1.02m, Ten’s News at Five was 12th with 0.781m behind the network’s top show The Biggest Loser in 11th place with 0.84m.

In the breakfast TV race, Seven pipped Nine with the Sunrise team taking 0.38m over Today’s 0.357m.
