The Works makes new planning hires
Creative agency the works has new hires in Laura Watson as account planner, Courtney Beck as buzz planner. Watson comes from Play Communications where she was senior strategy planner and Beck joins from BCM.

The Works has boosted its planning team with the new hires of Laura Watson, Account Planner, and Courtney Beck, Buzz Planner. Laura and Courtney join Jon Holloway, The Works recently promoted Head of Strategy, and Daniel Baldock – Junior Planner.
Jon Holloway – ‘ The advertising world has to evolve and we want to be driving that evolution in every piece of work we put out. Here at The Works we are developing an approach to allow us to create ideas at velocity, with a no bullshit approach to planning and strategy. This means we are looking for the right kind of mind that understands and can drive our ‘no-line’ attitude to communication, Laura and Courtney are outstanding hires in this arena.’
On the back of new business wins for The Works and solid organic growth from existing clients, Laura and Courtney’s experience across multiple channels and disciplines will strengthen the unique model at the agency.

Laura, formerly a Senior Strategy Planner at PLAY Communications has worked with such clients as Optus, Tourism Victoria, Charles Darwin University, Nivea and World Movies.
Laura believes a marketer’s greatest challenge is finding a way to deliver immersive brand experiences that are not convoluted and tied up in a hundred layers of messaging; she sees this challenge being amplified by a continuously fragmented media landscape. The success of a brand for Laura relies on facilitating simple, meaningful and dynamic brand experiences that provide tangible value. The Works commitment to delivering ‘no-bullshit’ mean that Laura and The Works go hand in hand.
Courtney joins The Works from BCM, where she has worked across many different industries both client and agency side. She is an engagement planner, digital strategist and community manager. Courtney’s marketing background whilst on client side brings a unique angle to her role within the agency and she passionately believes in clients getting bang for their buck. Her interest lies in creating long term sustainable plans for her clients that maximise their impact in the digital arena. Living and breathing digital in every sense of the word, in her spare time Courtney writes a dating blog read in 77 countries called ‘Reasons to date Courtney Beck’ and also writes for Lost at E Minor.
