There aint no party like a roomful of ungrateful ad wankers
To the Outdoor Awards, where adland folk were typically too cool for school.
There were those who didn’t turn up at all to pick up their trophies (JayGrey’s Jay Furby). And those whose demeanour suggested that the mere act of putting down their beer and heading to the stage was too much of an effort (most of the rest of them).
Even chairman of judges Jonathan Kneebone couldn’t make it as he was in the UK. Or as host Host Kitty Flanagan put it: “He just doesn’t care enough.”
Dr Mumbo was relieved that two agencies seemed genuinely pleased with their haul.
Us Sydney made the most noise on the night, while the team, from Jack Watts Currie were appropriately pleased to win best in show.
Pretty harsh and hurtful words coming from you Tim.
We work in an industry where unfortunately work commitments take over our personal lives and the social events we’d all like to attend. I happen to know most of the people there, and like myself, most of them were flat chat in the middle of gruelling schedules.
Personally I’d only had 4 hours sleep the previous two days.
If I came across like a wanker to you, rather than pleased but overworked and slightly frazzled – as excited as I was by the whole thing, I sincerely apologise.
And thank you to the OMA for such a fantastic night, it was an amazing event.

Headline: The grinch who stole the OMA Awards?
Your headline slams the people in the room, when it means to criticise those who didn’t show up. Thanks for coming.

Worst. Turnout Ever.
Rest assured I was on the internet within minutes, registering my disgust.
To the bat cave!
