Three contest Cricket World Cup ad pitch

Three agencies are in contention to take on advertising duties for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, Mumbrella understands.

Ogilvy, GPY&R Melbourne – which handles Cricket Australia’s advertising – and CHE Proximity are understood to be in the running, although the ICC has not confirmed which agencies are involved.

The agencies made presentations to the cricketing body last week. A result is expected next month.

Media buying and PR for the event, to take place in Australia and New Zealand, are also up for grabs. Presentations from media agencies are slated to take place next week.

A result for the PR pitch is expected be made in April.

The Cricket World Cup will be the fourth most viewed sports event in the world, behind the Summer and Winter Olympics and the FIFA World Cup, the CWC has said.
