The executive creative director of Havas Worldwide Tim Green has parted ways with the agency after just over a year in the role.

Green returned to Australia from Leo Burnett Singapore in December 2014 for the role. He will be replaced by creative directors Stuart Turner and Seamus Higgins who been promoted to be joint ECDs for the agency.

He was appointed to the role eight months after Steve Coll departed suddenly to take the ECD job at Droga5.

Green said in a  statement: “Whilst the timing and opportunity to move back to Australia for the role with Havas Worldwide were right for me at the time, I’m now going back to an international role.

“I spoke to Ant (Gregorio) and told him how I felt and the timing is right to make this move, so this is something we are aligned on.  We also discussed my replacement and I’m delighted that the agency has chosen to promote from within.  Stu and Seamus deserve the opportunity and are very talented.”

Earlier this year Havas lost its place on the Virgin mobile roster, while the agency picked up Citroen in Australia last year.

Turner and Higgins joined the agency from Saatchi & Saatchi in 2012.

Anthony Gregorio, group CEO of Havas Worldwide Australia said: “It’s sad that Tim is leaving and we wish him all the best.  Tim came in and helped bed in defence Force Recruitment as well as put us back on the path to delivering quality creative and awards.

“Last year under his stewardship we picked up ten awards and 15 finalists locally and internationally also winning the Lastminute.com business. Thankfully we’re lucky that we have some amazingly talented people in the wings and Stu and Seamus will step up and do a great job.”

The appointments are effective March 1, 2016.
