Tim Robinson steps up as COO at Shine
The restructure of Australia’s biggest TV production company is continuing with Tim Robinson promoted to chief operating officer of Shine Australia and New Zealand.
Robinson joined Shine last October as commercial director after previously working for the company in Europe.
In June, Shine’s Australian bosses Markl and Carl Fennessy took an extra international responsibilities. Carl Fennessy became CEO of Shine USA with a move to LA and Mark Fennessy became president of Shine Network with a brief to build co-production relationships in new territories”.
In July it was announced that Matt Campbell, SBS’s director of television and online content, was to become the new MD.
Reporting to Mark Fennessy, Robinson “will be responsible for the performance of the company’s business units and will provide operational, strategic and commercial direction in support of Shine’s creative, production and off-screen functions. He will also oversee the company’s HR, business affairs, business development and financial functions.”
His new role commences immediately.
Mark Fennessy said: “Great people are our currency at Shine and Tim has proven himself an outstanding executive. I congratulate him on a much deserved promotion.”
Robinson said: “After an amazing first year at Shine Australia, I am delighted and honoured to be promoted to the role of COO just as the company is poised to move to the next stage of its exciting evolution.”
In Australia Shine’s shows include the next series of Masterchef, The Biggest Loser, The Renovators and the forthcoming Class Of 2011 for Ten, and Australia’s Next Top Model for Foxtel.
