I’m more concerned that they don’t know the difference between ‘advice’ and ‘advise’. How do people get jobs in advertising, without an education or a basic understanding of English? Yes, I may be a grammar Nazi, but being able to spell words correctly in ads may seem trivial to some, but it speaks volumes about your professionalism, which then colours people’s perceptions of your ability to do your job.

Also, if the ad is alluding to certain parts of the male anatomy, by displaying the objects that we see… then yes, we can see them… and we get the message.

What’s more worrying, the apparent lack ofPC in this ad or the fact that people actually get offended by something a little tongue in cheek? As an ad, I don’t think it is a very good – the grammar error in particular – but it doesn’t offend me one bit and as a bloke it should, after all, we don’t want to be replaced for ‘some things’ by a kitchen tool – what does that say about my gender? I respect people’s right to be offended, but really…..
