Trafalgar appoints digital agency DTDigital
DTDigital has won a pitch for Trafalgar, the package tour brand owned by Travel Corporation.
DTDigital takes on a brief to overhaul Trafalgar’s website and build a mobile app.
The assignment comes as Trafalgar’s owner Travel Corporation is going through an advertising review.
The announcement:
Sydney, November 28, 2012: Following a period of significant agency growth, DTDigital, part of STW Group, has been appointed as digital agency for Trafalgar (www.trafalgar.com). The pitch was competitive.
Charged with redesigning Trafalgar’s community proposition, including its website plus the creation of a mobile app, General Manager of DTDigital Sydney, Phil Whitehouse said: “We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading travel brands and we look forward to a long term successful relationship with Trafalgar to deliver significant results.
“DTDigital’s entire approach is focused around delivering the best possible customer experience across every digital touch point.”
Rae Townsend, CMO, Trafalgar said: “DTDigital’s strategic and creative digital approach is well suited to our need to improve the effectiveness of our digital community proposition. We look forward to working with Phil and his team to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by the constantly changing digital media landscape.”
Adding Trafalgar to its client portfolio mirrors a rapid expansion to the Sydney team. Most recently Chris Dodson joined as Client Services Director, and this month Michael Ford joined as a Creative Technologist. Earlier in the year, DTDigital hired Jason Massarotto as Design Director, Rob Prescott as Experience Director and Ben Townsend as Technical Director.
“When we launched DTDigital Sydney, our ambition was to have a similar team to the Melbourne office, in terms of depth and breadth, and I’m delighted to say we’re well on the way,” said Whitehouse.
Since launching in January, DTDigital Sydney has developed its own independent client base, working with ReachOut.com, Centennial Coal and now Trafalgar, while continuing to work closely with several Ogilvy-wide clients such as Vodafone, Nestle and Coca Cola.
DTDigital and Ogilvy Sydney are part of the STW Group, Australia’s leading marketing content and communications services group.
