Triple M Adelaide  is switching its struggling breakfast team with its drive show presenters as Southern Cross Austereo looks to revive the ratings for the flagging station.

Current drive team Mark Ricciuto and Chris Dittmar, known as Roo and Ditts, are switching to the breakfast shift alongside current one of the current Hot Breakfast trio John Blake, after the breakfast show pulled just six per cent of the audience in the last survey.

Breakfast presenters Dale Lewis and former Adelaide Crow Nick Gill are switching to the 3pm – 6pm slot vacated by the pair alongside Andrew Jarman, one of the station’s Dead Set Legends lineup on a Saturday morning, joining them. The Rush Hour show got 9.6 per cent in the last survey, behind Mix FM’s 12.1 per cent in the timeslot.

In the last survey the station was bottom of the commercial FM radio pile in the city with just 7.3 per cent share points.

After years of pleading, Adelaide’s favourite son, Mark Ricciuto, has finally agreed to get up at sparrows with his mate Chris Dittmar to do the Breakfast shift on Triple M.

The move to Triple M Breakfast is also significant, as it’s the earliest the Brownlow Medallist and eight-time All Australian has been out of bed since retiring from the Crows in 2007.

Roo & Ditts will cover Adelaide’s biggest stories and everything that matters to the city each day.

“Cut these boys open and they bleed Adelaide,” Head of the Triple M Network Mike Fitzpatrick said

If you’re not waking up listening to this show, you won’t know what’s happening in Adelaide. End of story. Roo knows everyone, hears everything and has a finger in every pie. Chris Dittmar, Australia’s most recognisable squash champion (yeah, right…), is a much loved broadcaster in his own right. It’s already a great show in afternoons and will be even better in Brekky.”

A source close to Triple M management said, “It’s taken them six years and 182 days to convince Roo to do Brekky, which beats his own record of being the quickest player to notch up 300 games in just 13 years and 83 days.”

There’ll be no shortage of laughs and fun with these two mates, who will also be joined by Adelaide’s funniest bloke and creative genius Jon Blake.

Roo and Ditts make the move to Breakfast from Tuesday 3rd June 2014.

After years of fighting the early morning alarm, Dale Lewis will make the move to drive time to presentThe Rush Hour with Andrew Jarman and Nick Gill. Sport-loving Adelaide men can rest assured these three won’t drop the ball, continuing to deliver Adelaide’s favourite show in Drive for men 25 – 54*. The Rush Hour with Jars and Louie starts Monday 26th May.

Mark Ricciuto said, “What better place to wake up to than Adelaide. I can’t wait to shake things up with my mate Ditts and deliver a great Brekky show to the city I love!”

Chris Dittmar said, “I work with one of the most respected people in the Adelaide business and sporting community, now I get to find out what his morning breath is like.”

Southern Cross Austereo Head of Radio Content Craig Bruce said, “Roo & Ditts have proven over the years they’re a force to be reckoned with in drive, I can’t wait to hear what they’ll serve up for breakfast.”
