TV audiences down across the board with The Force topping the night

The Force Television audiences were down across the board last night with no program reaching above the million mark.

Seven’s The Force was the highest rating non-news program of the evening with an audience of 903,000 metropolitan viewers, down from 1.125m this time last week.

Over on the ABC, in the 8.30pm slot The Chaser’s Media Circus was down from 759,000 last week to 707,000 while Mad as Hell was up with an audience of 699,000 viewers, compared with 649,000 last week.

Nine’s Big Brother also fell, with 583,000 viewers tuning in to see how the four new contestants interacted with the rest of the house and to see four of the original contestants be sectioned off in another part of the House.

Also in the 8.30pm slot was Criminal Minds on Seven which had an audience of 725,000. But that was impacted by the network’s decision to show Resurrection in Perth. Resurrection did not run on Sunday due to the Perth 2014 telethon being shown.

Ten’s highest rating program of the night was The Project in the 7pm slot with 563,000.

In the news stakes Seven News beat Nine News in both the 6pm and 6.30pm slots with 956,000 to 935,000 at 6pm and 917,000 to 892,000 at 6.30pm.

Seven won the night in terms of main channel audience share with 21.3 per cent, Nine had 18.4 per cent, the ABC 13.4 per cent and Ten 10.5 percent.
