Today beats Sunrise as Nine wins Monday
Nine breakfast show Today recorded another ratings win over Seven’s Sunrise yesterday, while Ten’s canned early-morning offering Breakfast pulled in just 47,000 viewers.
Today rated with 390,000 while Sunrise brought in 374,000, according to preliminary overnight ratings from OzTAM.
Though Sunrise has been winning for most of the year in total viewers, Today has dominated in key advertising markets Sydney and Melbourne.
Rankings for the morning shows reflected the positions overall for the commercial broadcasters, with Nine winning the night with 20.6% share, followed by Seven’s 19.2%. Ten claimed 11.7% – and was comfortably beaten by ABC, which took 15.9% share.
Not a single non-news show managed more than 1m viewers.
With no X Factor – which ended last week – the night was won by news and current affairs programs.
Nine News topped the lot, and also won the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics. It was followed by Seven News. A Current Affair ranked third, then ABC News and Today Tonight.
Seven’s Home & Away was the most watched non-news show with 983,000 viewers.
Nine’s RBT won the 16-39 demographic.

Channel 7 needs to find Kochie a new show. His opinions and comments are becoming more and more annoying – I have been switching off lately even though I have been a dedicated Sunrise watcher for years. As much I dont like Stefanovic either, he has slowly become less irritating than Kochie (not to mention sweet as sugar Mel who needs to loosen up at times)

@nickatnights –
Given the intellectual level of anyone who chooses to watch Paul Henry, I am guessing that, the ABC for kids will see quite a spike once breakfast is off the air
