Twitter sourcing in action – how to accidentally trend LCMs
The good folk of Kellogg’s may have been puzzled when kids snack LCM briefly trended on Twitter last night.
It was Mumbrella’s fault.
Later, we realised we were thinking of Oreo’s.

How ‘big’ is Twitter then if an error on Mumbrella can (worlwide?) trend LCMs? No offence to Mumbrella!

Hi John,
I hope that it only trended in Sydney…
Cheers,
Tim – Mumbrella
They pay social media experts big dollars to get this sort of traction Mumbo, maybe a Mumbrella social media/content agency is on the horizon! 😉

John Grono, it didn’t actually trend – for a city or nationally 🙂
It require at least 500 tweeters and circa 1,200 tweets per hour to trend globally – at least according to this calculation – http://news.buzzgain.com/how-m.....n-twitter/
City level trends can be much lower however, only involving a few dozen tweeters and under a hundred tweets per hour.
