Two things that go together naturally: 2GB and sex appeal

And so to the 2GB Business Luncheon where host Ross Greenwood proved he could read his audience like a book.

Conducting a straw poll on guests’ views of the current political turmoil enveloping the Australian Labor Party, the station’s Money News presenter asked: “Who wants Gillard to win?” Not very many hands in the air.

“Who wants Rudd to win?” Even fewer.

“Who couldn’t give a rat’s arse?” Slightly more interest.

“And who wants them both to get out of the way and let Tony Abbott have a go?”

Cue a scene from a Rexona ad as the assembled dignitaries, still glistening from the 27-degree temperatures outside, fought to outdo each other in a ‘my hand’s higher than yours’ contest.

As Greenwood sagely observed: “You’re all 2GB listeners that’s for sure.”

Meanwhile, “Aussie” John Symond was also in good form, explaining why he was back in the brand’s ads. “Sex sells.”
