Upheaval in senior Telstra ranks

Telstra’s marketing operation looks set to see further changes in the coming days with a major restructure of the corporation’s senior ranks under way.

Just days after a shakeup saw the key branding role move to Mark Collis, Telstra last night made around 30 senior managers across the company redundant and signalled that up to 300 could follow.

There was no immediate word on the impact of this on the company’s extensive marketing team. The telco’s large roster of agencies do not yet appear to have heard of any knock-on impact for them.

At the time of posting, Telstra’s press team had not returned Mumbrella’s calls.

  10. Shame I missed the email – although I can predict exactly what it said – “thank you for your ongoing contributions during this period of change”…..”reducing duplication while enhancing streamlining and collaboration”……”there will be a thorough consultation process to ensure clear communications of outcomes to all affected”……followed by a share price increase!

I don’t think they went far enough personally, more EDs and Directors could easily get the chop let alone Group Managers etc.
