Upworthy execs heading to Australia for series of talks
Representatives of viral content site Upworthy.com are heading to Sydney for a series of talks on viral content. They will also be joining Mumbrella for a hangout on Monday, September 29 at 2pm AEST.

Eddie Geller, Josh Luger and James Marcus from Upworthy.com will present talks and workshops in Sydney on September 29th and 30th
Upworthy, are experts in how to drive viral content. The popular content site started in March 2012, and has a huge audience of socially conscious people in a social-media connected community. Geller, Luger and Marcus are here at the end of September and will talk to film makers, activists and communications people about their work.

James Marcus is chief revenue officer at Upworthy. He says, “Advertisers are not coming to us with how to get more clicks on content. They’re coming to us for how to create great content…“Our fundamental user experience is different,” he said. “It isn’t a break in someone’s day where they were momentarily amused. This is something where people learn something; they’ve been moved.”
Josh Luger Josh is the Revenue Product Manager at Upworthy. He helps conceive, build, scale, and sell products that support Upworthy’s mission, deliver for their partners, and generate revenue. Luger said the topics that Upworthy focussed on, that include the environment and racial equality, could be the most powerful of all.
