VB launches ‘best cold beer’ summer promo

Beer brand VB and creative agency Droga5 have launched a new promotional campaign for the summer.

The campaign, based around the ‘VB, the best cold beer’ slogan, is offering the chance for VB drinkers to get their hands on a range of beer paraphernalia.

The TV spots based around the campaign show Australian men devising the various equipment to solve problems set around warm beer.

The equipment includes a VB vending machine, a thermo cooler and an ice cold alarm. The products are redeemable after collecting a certain number of online codes and sending in the postage and handling.

General manager of marketing for VB, Andy Meldrum said: “We expect VB drinkers all over the country to snap up these items pretty quickly.”

“We’ve already had a great response from our trade partners and we expect our fans will love the items too. Not only are they great looking, iconic items, they’re extremely practical, solving some of the problems we’ve all faced.”

VB had a big promo win in 2005 with their Talking Boony doll given away free in cartons of the beer. When the correct signal was transmitted from the TV during a cricket broadcast, Boony would begin talking.

Also involved in this campaign were Buzz Marketing and Apollo Marketing.

  6. The waterproof case of beer you can throw a bag of ice into is genius (see the other video on the youtube channel)…. though suffers from the same contents issue as noted by anonymous above

  12. Considering VB stubbies are shorter than most other bottles around, you’d think they’d take advantage of that and prevent the taller bottles from fitting. Don’t know about cans though.
Either way give it to me!

  14. Seriuosly, if CUB want to sell VB they should try making it taste better as a start.
