Vijay Solanki to replace Clive Dickens as SCA digital boss
Media company Southern Cross Austereo has appointed former marketer Vijay Solanki as its digital boss following the departure of Clive Dickens to Seven West Media.
Solanki, currently digital innovation director with Philips in Amsterdam, will join the company in three months time as director of digital and innovation.
The appointment comes four months after Seven hired SCA’s previous digital supremo Clive Dickens.
Solanki has previously worked with the UK’s Capital Radio, music recognition service Shazam and BlackBerry.
SCA CEO Rhys Holleran said in a press release: “We welcome Vijay to head up our progressive and dedicated digital team and look forward to him driving our business further in all areas of digital including strategy, innovation, digital partnerships and data analytics.”
Solanki said: ”I’m truly excited about connecting my passion for music and entertainment with my experience in digital and ability to create consumer driven innovation. I’m really looking forward to working with SCA’s teams to take the company’s digital leadership to the next level.”
Southern Cross Austereo’s radio assets include the Today network and Triple M network, along with regional TV operations under the Southern Cross banner.
Clearly Australia has no digital talent according to SCA…
Sad they’ve again sourced from OS when there’s so many great people locally.
