Virgin Mobile sponsors Byron’s Bluesfest

Virgin Mobile Australia has put their support behind the Byron Bay Bluesfest today, with sponsorship and a heap of consumer-based activities.

Virgin Mobile Australia today announces its first sponsorship of Australia’s biggest blues and roots festival, the 24th Annual Byron Bay Bluesfest.

Music festival partnerships are part of Virgin Mobile’s DNA; as a successful sponsor of Splendour in the Grass for the past three years, Virgin Mobile is excited to be able to appeal to an even wider group of music fans with this new association.

Virgin Mobile will bring a number of customer activations to festivities, designed to enhance the Bluesfest experience for its customers including: handing out daily free ice creams via an SMS service; phone charging stations; and an exclusive Virgin Mobile customer area.

Virgin Mobile will also offer human-powered phone charging units in partnership with Sydney University’s Mechanic Engineering Department. This Australian festival-first will see festival-goers use recycled exercise equipment to power their handsets.

Non-customers can still scream for ice-cream with frozen treats available to purchase from the Virgin Mobile Ice Cream Van for a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to the festival’s charity partner, Cystic Fibrosis.

As a pacesetter in the market, Virgin Mobile is committed to delivering innovative technologies and through our partnershipwith Sydney University we are proud to support talented young engineers anddesigners to produce products that will in turn make our customers’ lives easier. Virgin Mobile is also offering customers the chance to win one of four VIP Bluesfest packages for them and a friend via a Facebook promotion.”

To win, Virgin Mobile customers need to visit the Virgin Mobile Facebook page facebook.com/VirginMobileAus and submit what their fantasy blues and roots band would be, including a short bio in 120 words or less. The four most creative entrants will win: festival tickets, flights and transfers to Ballina, camping gear and a welcome goodie pack.
