Wake Up long shot

Dr Mumbo suspects that the next time the PR folk of Sportsbet pitch a story to the Ten newsdesk, they may be out of luck.

The betting brand has today issued the following press release about new breakfast show Wake Up:

Channel 10’s new breakfast show, Wake Up, looks doomed already in less than a week on air according to betting activity with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.

Such has been the opinion of punters, Sportsbet has slashed the price for the show to be axed within a year from $6.00 to $2.50.

The much hyped beachside brekkie show has had a disastrous start in the ratings, with follow up show Studio 10 actually beating its lead in – something usually unheard of.

As a result, Sportsbet has also drifted the odds for Wake Up beating Sunrise and Today to be the top-rated breakfast show of 2014 from $13 out to $51.

“The presenters are doing a really great job in the studio but the viewers are not buying into it, they woke up and switched off and our sharp eyed punters have given it the kiss of death,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
