When she becomes he

There are many reasons why it can be better to do a phone interview, rather than rely on email. For one thing it can avoid awkward misunderstandings.

This is an extract from The Daily Tele’s interview with Mumbrella’s Robin Hicks.

As readers will no doubt agree, the word “she” has never been more inappropriately used..

  2. This is the problem with the loss of so many experienced journalists and the retention of inexperienced and/or lazy journalists.

Just read that Narelle Hooper and Catherine Fox were taking redundancy from Boss Magazine – that is yet another loss of two excellent journalists and both extremely lovely women who I have a deep respect for. Both have inspired me as a writer and editor.

How long will it take to rebuilt that experience and to have quality journalism or is that now gone forever?

  4. Robin with an “i” is usually a male, Robyn with a “y” is usually a female. A good journalist would check. It should never get past a sub. Does the Tele still have subs?
