Will Rico find love with Kim Kardashian?
Here’s another effort from Air New Zealand, this time with a Valentine’s day message for Kim Kardashian from creepy puppet perve Rico.
There won’t be much middle ground with this one. It will, Dr Mumbo suspects, either go massively viral or die on its arse.
The agency behind Rico is .99.
Are we meant to laugh?

Replace Rico with Murry Hewitt, and you’ll have yourselves a winner.

If Kardashian responds to it, it’ll go viral…

I got 29 secs in. Not funny. I’m not passing it on. I wouldn’t have known what it was advertsing except that your post tells us.

Yeh not nearly as good as the original, not even the same league – except when he said “u can smell it” – now come on, that was funny

I like Rico. Cool puppeteering. Fresh angle.

A great, ongoing campaign for Air NZ – and in the context of Rico’s past adventures and videos, this is very funny. We need to view this as almost a mini sitcom that has its own followers.
This will get loads of hits, likes and shares on the AIr NZ Facebook page and YouTube channel. And you can be sure Kim K (who lives in LA…one of Air NZ’s key markets), will be on that plane with Rico and touring NZ in the next six months. Giving rise to the next series in the Air NZ sitcom.
A winning part of a ‘campaign’ that will keep on giving.

Terrible ad – not funny, not witty, horrible execution. I loved the Air NZ product enhancements and the way they bundle their fares but this ad is a shocker.

Horrible, horrible ad. This may go viral for all the wrong reasons.

I laughed at “can you smell it” which was close to the end. Creepy.
