William Hill appoints Clemenger BBDO Sydney following pitch
William Hill has appointed Clemenger BBDO Sydney to handle its creative services as the UK bookmaker launches locally.
The account was put up for pitch at the end of last year with William Hill formally announcing plans to consolidate its brands, including Sportingbet, Centrebet and Tomwaterhouse.com, under the parent company’s name earlier today.
The agency has previously held the creative accounts for Sportingbet, Centrebet and Tomwaterhouse.com. William Hill is expected to launch a $10m brand building campaign in the coming weeks.
Clemenger BBDO Sydney executive creative director Paul Nagy said: “This is a fantastic win for Clemenger BBDO Sydney and an amazing way to start the year. We are extremely proud and excited to be partnering with such an iconic global brand and look forward to laying the foundations for its competitiveness within the Australian market.”
The agency has already started working on the launch campaign for William Hill which is set to go to market in the coming months.
Warren Hebard, head of brand and acquisition at William Hill said: “We have great ambitions for the brand within Australia and have been extremely impressed by the way in which Clemenger BBDO Sydney has shared those ambitions. We are excited to be partnering with them and congratulate them on an impressive pitch process.”
Clemenger BBDO Sydney clients include Tourism Australia, Foxtel, Skittles and Stayz.

Think the brand consolidation will be a failure, as William Hill means nothing here, unknown nothing

@Ann.. Beg to differ Ann. William Hill are a massive punting brand in the UK with loads of expertise in betting choices and odds setting for committed punters. Which BBDO will obviously push to squash current struggling online brands (including those in the present stable) with no believable cred – like Tom Waterhouse.
