Wipfli said: “It’s like someone needed to say ‘Hey Daniel, you’re not James Bond. You’re actually just a British guy, so let’s have a normal conversation’. The guy wouldn’t loosen up at all.” I walked out of that and I knew that at the same time next week I had Hugh Jackman, and I thought, ‘what a breath of fresh air’.”

  2. Couldn’t help but laugh at Fitzy’s answer to the last question – ‘how do i break into radio”…. there he is telling young’uns to record short breaks back announcing songs for their demo…. yet earlier in the same interview he admits that he didn’t have to do any of that because he did reality TV.
Truth is….. if you want to be a radio star – go and make a name for yourself elsewhere and then get your manager to forge your radio career for you. If you want to be a nondescript jock back announcing songs for the rest of your life on a 12-3pm shift, then sure, record a demo as Fitzy suggests.

  4. why break in to radio? You could focus on cracking the telex big time or steam powered stardom. Or, maybe a print journalist.
