Sydney agency The Works has won the lead creative account for The NRMA Group from incumbent agency BMF following a five-way pitch.

The Works will manage creative strategy and advertising across the NRMA Group including NRMA Motoring and Services, Thrifty Car Rental, Travel and Leisure, as well as its businesses including MotorServe NRMA Safer Driving Schools and NRMA Holiday Parks.

Jason Stidworthy, head of marketing and digital, for the NRMA Group said: “The Works showed a deep understanding of our business needs and its breadth of experience across a range of categories were the right fit for us as we streamline our agency partnerships.”

Match Media will continue to manage media strategy with MediaCom handling buying. Advertising for NRMA Insurance is held by Whybin\TBWA. BMF had only been added to the NRMA roster two years ago.

NRMA will be among The Works’ biggest clients such as Woolworths Everyday Rewards and Jim Beam. Other recent account wins include travel site Viator.com and Energy Australia’s below the line work.

Douglas Nicol, creative partner and director at The Works said: “To be entrusted with an iconic Australian brand such as the NRMA is a great opportunity for The Works and is another demonstration of a business selecting us based on our record in delivering effective work for clients.”
