WPP’s global Government & Public Sector Practice has launched a hub in Sydney aimed at driving excellence in communications and research for public sector clients in Australia and New Zealand.

Led by Y&R regional operations director Kathryn Cooper, the hub aims to provide local clients with access to global best practice and the best of WPP agencies’ thinking on government communications, behaviour change programmes, citizen engagement and digital government transformation.

Dr Michelle Harrison, CEO of WPP’s Government and Public Sector Practice, said in a statement:  “Australia and New Zealand are among world leaders in government communications. Our Hubs bring together our local expertise with our understanding of public engagement, behaviour change programmes, and digital transformation for our government clients. I am very excited to see the pace of development in our sector.”

Cooper will work with WPP ANZ chairman Geoff Wild who said in a statement: “Our agencies have a long history of partnering with Government to effectively create societal behaviour change in the region. We’re very pleased to now be positioned to bring our local clients better access to best practice case studies and thought leadership from around the world, as well as a broader platform for sharing learnings from our region.”

The Government & Public Sector Practice now has active Hubs in UK, EU, Middle East, ANZ and Africa and plans to launch in the US and Singapore in 2016.
