Wunderman conducts the first job Twinterview

This may be something of a gimmick, but it doesn’t mean it won’t work.

Wunderman is recruting for a copywriter by conducting their job interview on Twitter.

The process is being run by Wunderman creative director Matt Batten who challenges copywriters to get their message across in a succinct 140 charcters or less.

Fine as the idea may be, Dr Mumbo isn’t sure, however, that he can countenance Batten’s description of the process as “Twinterviewing”.

  6. It’s not the first twinterview. We did the same thing for V Raw & it worked really well. Great way to find tech-savvy & concise candidates!

  8. All very well, but it’s actually illegal to specify that you want someone ‘young’ in a job ad.
Fair Work Australia may like to haul Wunderman in to explain contravening the Fair Work Act via Twitter and to hand out the penalty via Twitter.

  10. The word ‘young’ is often used as a reference to experience in this industry, not age. The same as ‘green’. No-one expects applicants to be frogs. Or Irish.

  12. This is true Concerned Citizen, but still illegal. Just because this industry tends to prefer tall, well endowed blonde girls to sit on reception doesn’t mean they can specify that in the ad.

  14. wankers. unsure as to how much of a first it is seeing as how everyone from MTV to GM has used this for recruiting and with services out there like http://www.tweeterview.com/ it is hardly cutting edge.

Love that Matt carved the tweets down to 128 characters with it being sent to @mattbatton.
