Zuji becomes first Australian brand to use promoted tweets
Travel brand Zuji Australia has become what is believed to be the first local brand to use promoted tweets.
The deal means that when Twitter users search for phrases such as “airfare”, “bali”, “cheap flight”, “fiji” “flights”, “holiday”, “holiday destination”, “hotel”, “new zealand”, “travel” and “travel deal”, a tweet from Zuji appears at the top of the results page.
The service has been available for some time, but Twitter only recently began to offer geo-targeting, making it more efficient for Australian brands to get involved.
Zuji’s social marketing strategist, Maura Tuohy, of Reprise Media, said: “With technology as a core pillar for Zuji, we felt it was appropriate for the organisation to be among the very first companies to trial the new functionality in Australia.”
Zuji MD James Gaskell said: “Our tweets will provide travellers with insider trip information, hot tips and the latest flight, holiday and hotel deals.
I look at promoted tweets, making a mental note to boycott them for being too savvy.
