ABOUT THE EVENT
Women continue to be significantly under-represented in safety roles across a vast range of safety focused organisations. Those organisations operating in industries such as energy, oil and gas, mining, utilities, transport, construction, infrastructure, manufacturing and engineering are particularly lacking in senior female safety leaders with a male-dominated environment still ensuing. Women offer a unique perspective in enhancing safety performance and bring an important skillset to changing safety culture and behaviour making it imperative to ensure gender diversity at all levels of safety leadership within an organisation. While there has been some development in diversity in recent times, there is still some way to go before gender diversity is seen across the board in all safety focused organisations.
The Women in Safety Leadership Summit 2015 will explore the nature of safety and address the inherent challenges and obstacles that have stopped women from accessing and acquiring senior safety leadership roles in the past. With an outstanding speaker faculty, the summit will provide current and emerging female safety leaders with the skills, strategies, solutions and inspiration to achieve their potential and become high-performing and influential long-term safety leaders.
