FRIDAY ON MY MIND: Angus Sampson & The Mule

FRIDAY ON MY MIND:
Friday November 28: Angus Sampson & The Mule

Distinctive and diverse Angus Sampson’s acting body of work spans film, theatre and television with on-screen roles that include George Miller’s soon to be released Mad Max: Fury Road, Spike Jonze’s Where the Wild Things Are, Insidious: Chapter Two, Summer Coda, Legend of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga’Hoole, 100 Bloody Acres and roles in TV series and movies such as: Wilfred, Thank God You’re Here, Spirited, The Librarians, Underbelly, The Secret Life of Us, Howzat! Kerry Packer’s War and Magazine Wars: Paper Giants and Beaconsfield.

With writing and directing also in his repertoire Angus has just seen his first feature film – The Mule starring Hugo Weaving – that he co-wrote (with Leigh Whannell) and co-directed (with Tony Mahony) released simultaneously in a number of territories after a positive reception on the international festival circuit. The black comedy was strategically released to go straight to VOD with Angus on record saying, “If the audience won’t come to the film you might as well take the film to the audience”

Listen to Angus talk to host James Hewison about his experience taking the challenge head on of getting this screen story to the audience before the pirates do, and much more…
