ABOUT THE EVENT
According to the NSW Government’s Public Service Commission, women account for just over 60% of the NSW Public Sector workforce but approximately only 30% of senior executive level positions. This lack of diversity at a senior level while acknowledged, is yet to be completely rectified due to a variety of internal and external obstacles still existing both in the social and organisational fabric of the Public Sector.
Evidence continues to demonstrate that diversity has a significant impact on business outcomes with a gender diverse workforce increasing the talent pool and overall capability and innovation of an organisation. The New South Wales Government’s 2021 plan recognises that a diverse workforce will add value to effective service delivery and is crucial in order to meet the growing demands of a changing and complex Public Sector landscape.
The Public Sector Women in Leadership NSW Summit 2015 aims to explore the diverse array of challenges that make it difficult for women to access, acquire and remain in senior leadership positions. With an outstanding speaker faculty, the Summit will empower and inspire current and emerging female leaders and provide real solutions and practical strategies to assist women to achieve their leadership goals and carve out the Public Sector career they desire.
Featuring success stories, insights and coveted advice from senior female leaders, the summit provides expert leadership strategies and solutions to a multitude of common challenges in the current complex and ever-changing climate of the Public Sector in 2015.
