AFTRS OPEN: Into the Box: An Intro to Writing for Television – Sydney

Writing and working in television differs substantially from film on many levels: deadlines are tight and networks are demanding! This course will introduce emerging writers and potential script editors to the experience of working in the fast-paced and challenging environment of series television.

Over two days participants will be taken through the many demands of writing in a medium that requires team work and an intimate knowledge of the production process – all while under strict deadlines.

Run by experienced TV writer Vicki Madden (The Kettering Incident, The Bill, Water Rats, Stingers, Halifax f.p., Blue Heelers, McLeod’s Daughters, and the telemovie Blood Brothers) using lectures, screenings and practical exercises to give you the perfect introduction to writing for TV.
