ADMA WA Branch Earlybird Breakfast Series
Police officers in Western Australia have become more community focused in their approaches with the public and you can hear about how they’re doing this at an upcoming ADMA breakfast in Perth.
Police Commander Jon Tuttle, who heads up the WA Police State Control Centre & Structure Reform Unit, will talk about how the WA Police Service is using more effective communication to drive this community-oriented focus in their work and how communication is improving business performance, workplace culture and public perception.
Jon will discuss how an innovative trial in the South East Metro District by the WA Metropolitan Police led to a 13% increase in public satisfaction and an 87% approval rating. This has involved setting up local community teams in each suburb.
On the lighter side, Jon will also talk about how the WA Police are engaging the community on Twitter with more compelling and authentically human posts and the challenges of getting buy-in to adopt that stance. He’ll also talk about the funny things that people sometimes ask police officers to do.
