Friday on My Mind: Sydney – David Wenham

SYDNEY: Wenham’s Way

David Wenham is a titanic force among Australian actors, a veteran of the stage, TV and film, he has balanced a career that spans blockbuster Hollywood movies including Lord of the Rings, Moulin Rouge and 300 with local productions such as Gettin’ Square, The Proposition, Jane Campion’s Top of the Lake and Paper Planes.

In 2013 David turned his attention to working behind the camera, debuting as the chapter director/writer of Commission (starring Hugo Weaving) for the Australian anthology The Turning: an adaptation of Tim Winton’s haunting novel.
David will share his ideas, thoughts and experiences with Luke Buckmaster, about the creative-satisfaction he derives from crafting fully-formed characters, the differences between working home and abroad along with his motivation to transition from acting to directing.
